A random thought crossed my mind just now. And when I say just now, I mean it - "Just NOW".
"How much can 1 do?".
No matter what, you cannot do 100 people's worth of work. You are the only one who has the capacity to do the work of one person. If you do anything more than that, it's purely because of your commitment and capacity.
Ragini, a friend of mine had no idea what she had signed up for.
She graduated in the year 2021 and started a corporate job at "XYZ" company. She worked there and gained a wonderful experience. Her manager was very kind to her when she started her job. She joined as a Paralegal and was soon promoted to Legal Consultant job. It was then sounded like a pure dream come true moment for Ragini. She had always dreamt of having a job wherein she was treated and paid amazing.
But, the nightmare began when her the only colleague and friend decided to leave the job.
XYZ company was a small company. It was a legal start-up. Ragini joined it in September 2021 with her one friend named Shweta. However, Shweta could not continue due to her health issue and decided to quit it soon in December 2021.
Ragini was shattered as now it was just her and her manager in the company. She was tensed because now she was left with a job that demanded two worth people work to be done.
Ragini was smart, talented and always did more than required. She proved that if you love your work, your professional life will blossom. However, given that Shweta left and her tasks are open along with Ragini's own tasks, she thought she would have to sacrifice her own time.
Ragini was a person, who would give anything at the job to complete the tasks. She did it. To her surprise, she completed all the Shweta's tasks within a week and started to complete her tasks. She couldn't believe that she did it. Her manager was happy and increased her salary by 5000 INR.
Soon, Ragini was asked to hire people for the job. So now, along with doing the legal tasks, she was hiring for the company. After hiring, she was asked to train which she started doing.
After the completion of the training, she was asked to alott them the tasks and manage the people under her, which she did.
So now Ragini does all the legal work, hiring and training people at the job.
Soon, Ragini was asked to talk to the companies and onboard them for our legal work. Again - she did it.
Ragini was asked to prepare the Agreement of sale and MOA for the company. Basically this is a big call as you become responsible in binding two different companies into one agreement. Again - she did this.
Basically, now, Ragini does all of these tasks single handedly in the same salary which was paid to her for only doing legal work for the client. Her salary did not increase but the work did. Poor girl did not even complain.
