BEFORE THE COFFEE GETS COLD : TALES FROM CAFE (BOOK 2)

 In the last review, we mentioned the four tales of the book. Today we will mention the stories in book two, of the Before Coffee Gets Cold series. The tale in the last review remaining was about the mother and the child but before that, the question arises if the café offers the service to time travel into the past what about the future? Will it offer time travel in the future? the answer is yes the café also provides services for time travel in the future. The rules remain the same. We can get the hint of this in book one itself as we come to the end of book one Fumiko returns to the café and asks Kazu if one can travel to the future? from here we come to know that though Goro had broken up with her to achieve his dreams in America while leaving the café he told Fumiko that if she waits for three more years they can be together. So Fumiko was hoping to travel to the future and see whether Goro was back and if they were together. But here we learn another fact about the café; you have only a one-in-a-lifetime chance to travel back in time or future.

                                                             

After that, we can see that one fine day a school girl was sitting in the place of the time travel chair and she was waiting for someone, nagare was already present in the café so he knew that that girl had come from the future to meet someone. When Kei enters the café she notices that there is a girl around 14 years old sitting in “that” chair. That girl asks Kei if she can get a photo with her. Kei is surprised at first but then she agrees. The girl takes a smartphone out of her pocket to take a selfie with Kei. Kei had seen that type of device for the first time and she was surprised to see it. After clicking the selfie the girl told Kei that the coffee was getting cold and she had to leave, before kei could ask anything the girl drank the coffee and evaporated into steam.

The story about Kei was that she was born with a weak heart and couldn’t do other sports activities or activities that other kids used to do when she was young. And now when she was pregnant doctor had advised her to abort the baby as there would be chances of losing her life after giving birth to the baby. although she knew everything she decided to keep the baby. but she wished to meet the baby at least once to ensure that the baby was healthy and happy with her father. She thought of visiting the future but she was hesitant as there was very little chance of meeting her baby what if she had lost her during birth? And even if her baby had made it alive will she be able to meet her in the future?

Then here comes the tales from book two  

THE BEST FRIENDS

Gotharo Chiba had been lying to his daughter for twenty-two years. Gotharo Chiba and Shuichi Kamiya were best friends for more than six years when they played rugby together. Shuichi was kind enough to look after Gotharo as Gotharo was homeless and penniless. Shuichi also hired Gotharo in his restaurant for extra help that way gotharo could earn some extra money. Years passed and Shuichi was blessed with a daughter he named ‘Haruka’.  One fine day Shuichi's wife Yoko complained of severe headache so they had to rush to the hospital. and Shuichi asked gotharo to look after Haruka for him gotharo loved Haruka as his daughter the moment he held her in her arms. when Shuichi and Yoko rushed to the hospital on the way they met with a horrible accident and both of them lost their life.  From that moment onward gotharo took care of Haruka as her child and never told her about her real parents. but now when Haruka was 23 years old and she was getting married gotharo wanted to tell her the whole truth but he was afraid that Haruka might see him differently. So he decides to visit the café and go in the past to meet Suichi but he is in doubt whether he should travel the past or be the situation as it is.

                                                   

Before proceeding to the next tale of the mother and the son a secret about the woman ghost who sits in the chair is revealed. the secret was that the ghost's name was KANAME she was Kazus's mother once she went in the past to meet her dead husband Kazus's father but time went fast and she did realize the coffee was already cold so she turned into a ghost and she sat there in that seat and helps the customers to time travel kazu was only seven when she saw her mother turn into a ghost. till today she has never smiled after her mother turned into a ghost she blames herself for it she is afraid of the attachments.  This is the reason why only Kazu can undo the spell if the ghost cursed someone because that ghost KANAME was her mother. To undo the spell she has to offer the ghost a coffee and the rule is the ghost can't refuse the coffee. the coffee poured distracts the ghost's mind and the curse is undone.
