The review of season 1 is here: Duranga Season 1
Abhishek (Gulshan Devaiah), the son of the disturbed serial killer Bala Banne (Zakir Hussain), managed to flee from a coastal village. He was granted a fresh identity by Dr. Manohar Patel (Rajesh Khattar) and his wife Anuprya (Divya Seth Shah). They bestowed upon Abhishek the identity of their comatose son, Sammit (Amit Sadh). The perplexing rationale behind this elaborate deception is unveiled in Duranga 2.
Released on Zee 5 and skillfully directed by Rohan Sippy, Duranga 2 captivated me from its opening scene to the final moments. Picking up where Season 1 concluded, the narrative follows Ira Patel (Drashti Dhami) as she grapples with the reality of her husband Abhishek Banne's (Gulshan Devaiah) actions and identity. Just when a semblance of normalcy seems to be returning, the real Sammit Patel (Amit Sadh) emerges from a decade-long coma, injecting a new layer of anticipation into the storyline. The unveiling of mysteries surrounding Abhishek Banne's father, his gruesome murders, and his accomplice becomes a focal point in Duranga 2. As a viewer, I felt an innate curiosity to unravel motives and protect others from a psychopathic killer. Duranga 2 effectively engages the audience, ensuring an immersive connection with the unfolding narrative.
Duranga 2 doesn't merely keep you at the edge of your seat; it ensures your active participation in the thriller. This level of engagement is only achieved when the performances, direction, and writing are sharp and concise. Without divulging too much, it's worth noting that the climax is not suited for the faint-hearted. Duranga 2 is an absolute must-watch.
