Movie: Kushi

Kushi is a romantic comedy film starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Vijay Devarkonda (Our Arjun Reddy). The film is so romantic that any person will start believing in the power of love.

I liked this film for one particular reason it does not drag any sad situation for too long. It keeps it realistic. The film is available for you all to watch on Netflix.

Storyline:

Viplav (played by Vijay Deverakonda), employed at BSNL, is instantly captivated by Aaradhya (portrayed by Samantha) upon their first encounter. However, Aaradhya assumes the identity of a Pakistani Muslim to avoid Viplav. As the story unfolds, Aaradhya eventually falls for Viplav and discloses her true background as a member of a conservative Brahmin family. Unbeknownst to them, their fathers, Lenin Satyam (Sachin Khedekar) and Chadarangam Srinivasa Rao (Murali Sharma), are embroiled in a longstanding feud.

Against their parents' objections, Viplav and Aaradhya decide to marry, only to face unforeseen challenges in their marital journey. The narrative revolves around how they navigate and resolve these unexpected issues.

Hesham Abdul Wahab's music emerges as the unsung hero of Kushi, complemented by superbly shot scenes by cinematographer Murali. The captivating visuals significantly elevate the overall cinematic experience, showcasing the commitment to high production values by Mythri Movie Makers. However, there is room for improvement in the editing department.

Director Shiva Nirvana, while not flawless, does a commendable job with Kushi. Opting for a simple yet relatable concept, especially for married audiences, he presents it in his distinctive style. Much like his previous works, Shiva Nirvana tackles everyday life issues, placing Kushi in the same category. The film benefits from strong casting and a competent technical team.

In summary, Kushi proves to be an enjoyable romantic comedy, particularly in its well-crafted second half. The film's central themes unfold effectively in the latter hour, delivering compelling drama and emotions. Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha shine in their roles, supported by a talented ensemble cast. However, it's worth noting that the initial portions of the film lack the same brilliance. Additionally, a shorter runtime could have enhanced the overall impact. Despite these considerations, Shiva Nirvana succeeds in creating a film that resonates with family audiences, making Kushi a worthwhile choice for this weekend's viewing.
