Story of a rainy day

Rain Drain

Hello sweethearts, today I Wish to share with you a memory. Do let me know what's your take on it on our Instagram handle - @wordlytouched

Today, in the morning I had to step out of my house in the rain for some grocery shopping. Kindly note it slightly drizzling at that time. But once I reached the market OMG it started pouring like crazy. The raincoat, the umbrella, everything seemed useless in this rain. By the time I reached home back, my energy level was fully drained. All I wished now was to wrap myself in a warm and cozy blanket like a burrito while enjoying a warm and aromatic tea.

But, this is reality and not a novel, hence I had to adjust with a hot tea and a long list of chores that my mom had for me. But, this circumstance made me recollect my childhood memories of rain. Well, Childhood is a person's most simple yet treasured part of life. All the rainy seasons of my childhood were the best. I was allowed a lot of things that on normal days my parents used to forbid me from doing.

For example Sleep, the atmosphere was so cozy and sleep-friendly that my parents were fine with me sleeping for the majority of the time. Next, the Food Rainy season in my house meant a lot of oily, and heavy food as the atmosphere was cool. My parents felt that increasing foods that are a bit high in oil or heavy are good as the body needs that extra boost of hot food. This meant that the majority of the time we had fried pakoras, Kheer, Arbi ki sabzi, Cucumber cake, and a lot of other things.

The last but the best part of the rains in my childhood was “Laziness' ' I mean I understand that the readers by now did assume this. But I classify this separately because being the overprotective persons my parents are during rains they were very worried about me falling sick hence they used to allow me to stay at home and take a (my child-brain) needed break from school.

All in all, if I had to summarize my childhood in the rain, I would say it was the most calming and relaxing phase of my life. Life was very simple then. And my parents had the most reasonable expectations of me. ( yup, they have unreasonable high expectations from me these days ). Nowadays these rains just don't feel good like the olden times, these rains are like an energy-draining session I have to undertake.

So, my lovelies, tell me what are your memories of this rain. Do write any and every memory you have associated with rain. We would like to hear all of those and even for a short period relive them again.
