My First Job - A real experience

Hello, dear lovelies, I am back with a new story and probably a life lesson for a few of my charming readers.

My first job is a tale of one close friend. Her journey towards acquiring her first job is quite an interesting rollercoaster ride. I hope you will enjoy it and also learn something from it.

Hi, I am Mari a small-town girl with big dreams. The geographical location never demotivated me from aiming or dreaming big. Always wished to make a mark in this world. This enthusiasm of mine kept me moving, and after my graduation, I started the painful task of job hunting.

In my college years, I was told by many that the job market is very rough but I never paid attention to that advice.  This was a big mistake, if I had listened to that advice then maybe my struggles would have been much less.

Like any normal job hunter, I too prepared my CV and began applying to any and every job that matched my qualification. I hoped that my qualification will land me at least one good job within a month. But I was delusional to think this. Months after months that kept passing with me not even landing one interview. This vicious cycle of me applying and either getting ghosted or receiving a rejection started affecting my confidence very negatively. Almost all my classmates were employed at this point with me still jobless. Until this painful phase was over and I finally landed my First Job.

My happiness had no bounds and I willingly said “Yes”. The job was something that I was exactly wishing for hence I was super excited about it. But my lack of skills was making my work very difficult. I started failing in meeting my employer's expectations, this was a dark phase, that no fresher wishes to face. And within 2 weeks of my employment, I was laid off.
My first job thought me a lot of things the very first one being that confidence is the key to your success. The moment you let the other person know that you lack that then you have made a big mistake. It also thought me never to assume, it's better to ask and be clear than to assume and make mistakes.  Respect is a two-way channel, once you stop receiving it take action and save yourself.
