The haunted flat

Hey guys, long time no see. I missed posting the blogs last month because I was busy celebrating the Ganesh Chaturthi with my family. Also, many unwanted stuff took place in my life. But, now I will be regular with the blog posting. I hope you all are enjoying the stories I post. Please comment down below and let me know. Let us now get started with today’s story. Today’s story is real and was emailed to me by one of my readers.

This story is of Mithali (of course an imaginary name). She used to stay with her family in Kerala. She had one flat in a city and one ancestral house in a village. She used to study in a city so she used to stay in a flat there and during holidays she used to stay in her ancestral house in the village. This continued till her grandmother died. Thereafter, her father had to come down to their ancestral house to look after the properties they had in the village.

They stayed there while they put their flat on the rent. They stayed in their ancestral house for almost 3 years until they had to shift back to their flat as Mithali had to attend her last year of college and it would have been a waste of time to travel up and down. Now the real paranormal activity starts.

All the shifting was done. It was a 3bhk flat so Mithali had one room, the second for her parents and the third one was a guest room. They settled there and few days went pretty happy. Mithali was happy since she could completely focus on her studies and didn’t have to waste any more time traveling. She had her bike to go to the college and the whole liberty to spend time with her friends which she couldn’t have earlier due to long distance.

One night when Mithali was asleep, she heard someone laughing in her very own room. She woke up in a hurry and looked around and found nobody in the room. She thought maybe she was dreaming. She ignored and slept again. The next day she narrated the incident to her parents. Even they were of an opinion that she must’ve been dreaming. The next few days went smoothly.

Again, after few days she was asleep and she heard someone laughing. She woke up and looked around and found nobody. She slept again. Again after few minutes, she heard someone laughing but this time the voice was comparatively near. She woke up and turned on the lights of the room and searched even in her wardrobes. She found nobody. But, this time Mithali was very much sure that somebody or something was there in her room. She slept back. The next day she narrated the incident to her parents. They said they will check the room and they did but, found nothing suspicious.

The same night, Mithali was very much scared to sleep in her room. But, she dared and slept. She kept a light lamp near the bed and tried sleeping. After an hour she slept. At 2.30 or so, her eyes opened and she saw something that shook her entire world. She saw a person starring at her continuously without blinking. The person was smiling and his looks were creepy. She was so scared that she screamed out very loud and her parents entered her room in a hurry. When they entered they couldn’t see any person but, Mithali was still was able to see him. When Mithali saw her parents she ran towards them and hugged them tightly. And when she looked at that corner of her room the person already was disappeared. She told them what happened and now even they were scared.

Now, they weren’t understanding what was to be done. They called their neighbor. They told them what had happened. They then suggested, they should reach out to a preist who was experienced in such a field. Mithali parents, the next day, reached out to that priest. Mithali told everything to that priest. The priest agreed to have a visit to their flat till then he asked them to stay somewhere else since Mithali was scared to stay at the flat at night which was understandable. They did as he told.

After 2 days, the priest visited the flat along with Mithali and her parents. The priest, since he was very experienced, felt an evil spirit in the flat. He followed the procedure to call the spirit and ask for the motive, he was chanting. After half an hour of chanting the spirit came (I am explaining it in short). While chanting many things moved from one corner to another. When the spirit arrived, only Mithali and the priest could see the spirit.

Mithali hugged her father. The priest started asking questions to the spirit. He told that his name was Pankaj and he was a tenant in this very flat. He stayed there for almost 1 year and 2 months. He stayed there along with his few friends. They were roommates. He told that they used to have a frequent fight over the payment of the rent. Pankaj was very particular about the bills and the rent. He was punctual and due to fear of eviction from the house, he paid the whole amount of the rent couple of times on behalf of his roommates. He used to ask back for the amount but, his roommates would never return their share of money paid by the Pankaj.

One day, Pankaj had a very big fight with his roommates over the money issue. After having a verbal fight, the fight became physical, and as a result of which one of the roommates hit a wooden flowerpot on Pankaj’s head and the force was so hard that Pankaj had internal bleeding in the head and he died on the spot. After listening to this, both, priest and Mithali felt very bad for Pankaj. So basically, Pankaj had a wave of anger. He was sad that he died for a petty reason and also, he wanted to live. He had a desire. The priest told him that whatever happened was very bad and shouldn’t have happened. He explained to him that whatever happened wasn’t the fault of Mithali or her parents and that he should leave this flat. Pankaj wasn’t ready and was waiting for his roommates to return in the flat. Mithali told him that they would never return here since they won’t rent out the flat to any bachelor and would prefer renting out to a family in the future. Pankaj then disappeared and before disappearing told them that he would search out for them and will take his revenge.

After his disappearance, Mithali narrated his story to her parents since they couldn’t see or hear him. The priest did “shuddhikaran” of the house. After that Mithali never saw or heard anything in the house and all is very well in the flat.
