What
is stress?
Stress is something that one faces when extremely under
emotional or mental pressure. It’s a feeling one gets when under an emotional
breakdown. It includes when one undergoes anxiety, depression issues. It can
also include a sort of guilt, anger, or grief.
One can face stress when he/she sees some accident
or traumatic event which can include violence, constant fear of something or
someone, theft, rape, robbery, etc. He/she can also be stressed when he/she has
to face some big challenges, or are worrying about something, or jobless for
few months, lots of responsibilities which he/she cannot handle.
Guys, stress can be caused due to many reasons. The
key to overcoming stress is its management. Stress can be treated medically too
or even without any medical assistance if can be controlled. I would strictly
recommend taking medical assistance if you cannot control the stress or someone
who is trying to help you cannot handle it.
As told at the beginning, I have mentioned many
activities in one of the blogs to perform some activities when one is feeling
low. You can check it here.
Now
I am mentioning few activities to manage stress. Have a look.
1) Meditate – Meditation is very important when it
comes to the management of stress. Stress is something that you undergo due to
constant negative thinking and the key to distracting yourself from such
negative thoughts is meditation. Meditation helps you to focus on the right
things. It releases negative thoughts. It helps in clearing your mind and makes
you feel relaxed. Try meditating and you will know yourself.
Meditation is being ignored by the young generation.
But we all know how effective it is and the benefits it gifts us. I would
recommend everybody to try meditating whether you are stressed or not. It will
help you. Try meditating in the morning.
2) Exercise – Exercising is also the best way to
keep yourself focused and distracted from frequent negative thoughts. It helps
in releasing the toxic thoughts and vibes within us.
3) Talk – Talk about your problems. You need to get all
the problems out of you. You can even talk to yourself. It is called self-talk.
But make sure what you are talking about is negative or positive. Figure it out
first. Don’t let negativity hit you.
4) Hobbies – You need to take some time for yourself
to do your hobbies. It will help to relieve your stress. Relaxing hobbies
include things like art, reading, playing, doing puzzles, playing board games,
etc.
5) Deep breathing – Do deep breathing. Doing this
will help you release all your stress. You will feel relaxed after you do this.
Do this every day for 5 to 10 minutes.
6) Eat well – Eating a well-balanced diet will help you to control your mood. Your meal should be full of vegetables, fruits, protein, and whole grains. Never skip your meal because it will make your mood bad which can increase your stress.
7) Take it easy – Our modern lives are so busy that
we skip to even breathe. Don’t do that. Slow down and relax. It’s your life so
you need to chill out. You cannot be fast every time. Break down the large jobs
into smaller ones this will make you release the pressure. Make a timetable and
arrange your work according to your convenience.
8) Acceptance – Accept that certain things you cant
do. Go easy on yourself. Accept yourself the way you are. Also, accept that you
cannot control everything in your life. Accept things that life throws at you.
Accept that everything in life won’t be sweet. Handle everything with a smile
because life is going to be full of ups and downs. Face them and get over it
with a smile.
9) Elimination – Eliminate all things that trigger
you. Stay away from those people who trigger you. Figure out all the causes of
your stress. Is it your relationship, college, job? When you find the cause,
try to eliminate the cause, and if you cannot, try to reduce the stress of
that cause. Always remember it’s in your hands how to handle the stress.
10) Muscle relaxation – When you are stressed,
always remember to stretch your muscles. Your muscles get tensed when you are
stressed. You can loosen them up by stretching, enjoying the massage, taking a hot
shower bath, or a good deep sleep.
Remember
the following things –
1. Remember that relaxation techniques help a lot to reduce down stress. Try it when you are stressed and thank me later.
2. Remember that you are under the control. You can
control how much stress can be handled by you.
3. Remember to talk to your loved ones when you are
under stress. Discuss
4. Remember not to be ashamed for asking or reaching out for help.
5. Remember that you are not alone and you have your
loved ones always. Try to keep in touch with them
6. Remember that you should not stay
alone when you are extremely under stress and be in touch with someone you
know will understand you and whom you trust.
7. Remember that if nothing is working towards controlling
your stress go and get medical help and there’s no shame in it. It’s for your
betterment, trust me.
