The Friendship Day

Remember those days when we were dying to earn friendship bands in our hands? The number of bands used to make us feel richer and we used to think this is what we are here for. The more number of bands used to make us happier. We especially used to visit shops to buy those bands because we wanted the bands to be perfect. Friendship day was a big occasion for us. As we grew we started to forget those days because we had our own experiences. Those bands still have the threads which are old and have lots of stories to tell.

Tell me honestly those who tied us those bands are still there in our lives? Those promises of not leaving each other no matter what still exists? The person who tied the bands still remembers you? How funny life is. We thought those bands were the sign of our forever friendship which is now lost.

When I was small I used to celebrate friendship day as if it’s a Diwali Festival. To be honest, I had many friends. We were a group of 20 and I used to have 25-30 bands in my hands and we used to not untie it for the entire week. Best friends used to tie each other a special band because it was a sign that yes you are the special one. Now to be honest nobody must be even remembering these days. As I grew I understood that this was a waste of money and friendship is something different and is a next-level bond. It is a special bond no doubt. But this bond must be celebrated every day not by tying those bands which are going to lose but, by the creation of memories and growing the friendship each day.

Are you still in contact with all your school friends or college friends? No doubt school days are the best days because we kids did not know the real world out of school. I had no idea that one day the people who used to tie my bands are going to forget me or that I am going to forget them. We kids didn’t even have an idea that our dreams or paths were different. We thought this going to be forever until we passed out. No doubt we were happy then but now when I look back I realized this is not friendship it was just a phase of childhood that we all go through.

A real best friend is a person who doesn’t want a band from you but, a promise to be around forever. He expects truth, loyalty, love, care, and very important trust. Your bond should be so strong that when you end up fighting you don’t need a third person to resolve your fight but you both together find one solution. There has to be transparency. You don’t need a party to be happy, just you two are enough to make each other happy and this is what real and pure friendship is. You should be confident that this person is not going to leave your hand and is going to be forever with you. A real best friend is the one who will be there in your happiness but also he will be there in your bad times trying hard to make you smile. This is what real friendship is about. Those bands and all don’t make someone your best friend only a special one deserves that place in your heart.

Best friends have certainly many duties to play, for example, maintaining trust, defending even if your best friend is wrong. Those days were very cute, isn't it? I miss my childhood days. Whenever I remember my school days it brings a smile to my face. Those big promises we made are nowhere to be seen now. Everything seems to be a joke and immature things now.
