AND THE PROFESSOR APOLOGIZED

Just now my mother asked me to post this blog which is based on a true story and this incident has happened with my mother. So let's get started. So my mother was a bright student and especially she used to score highest marks in Mathematics. She belonged to a not-so-famous village in Goa. She was a simple girl during her time and had many friends but you know right back then their kind of friendship was different from ours. So this was about her background. She had a teacher named Professor Gupta (imaginary name). My mother was his favorite student and he used to always ask my mother questions with regards to mathematics and also he used to teach so well that he had no failures in his class.

One day there was an event it seems and he asked my mother to get flowers for that event. She said okay because she felt she would get them easily. The next day morning my mother woke up early and searched for flowers in her garden. But unfortunately, she didn’t find a single flower that day and thought she would explain the same to Professor Gupta. At the same time, she was scared too. We all get scared right when we are asked to do something but we fail to do so and we keep on thinking that how we will face the anger of the person who gave us that work. 

She went to school. And professor asked her if she got the flowers and my mother said she didn’t get them since there were no flowers in the garden today. He got so angry that he punished her and asked her to get lost from the class. He was so furious, he humiliated her in front of her class. My mother was in pain and she got so humiliated that she ran away from the school and rushed home. She told her mother, that is my grandma, that she will never go back to school. She explained everything to her mother. Her mother too got angry that this is not the way to get angry at someone and that too at 7 years of a girl. Let me tell you my mother is over-sensitive. when someone yells at her she starts thinking over it and crying and for the rest of the day she sobs. And she told me that she kept on thinking about this incident. She thought that how will she face her friends? The entire class must have laughed behind her back. Now the teacher will hate her. Other teachers must have joked about the incident. So she had these several thoughts on her mind. 

After 2-3 days when the principal asked him about my mother being absent for 2-3 days which was strange since my mother was a regular student, he told him everything in front of the class. Then the principal explained to him that for such a small thing a professor should not shout at such an extreme that a student would not like to visit a school. He also said that the flowers weren't that necessary and could have been arranged from somewhere else. Such an incident is very bad and it can also impact one's brain. And then the principal asked him to apologize to my mother by visiting her place and he did it. And my mother joined back the school. But after this incident, he stopped asking questions which he used to ask my mother. Yes, the incident had an impact on the relationship they shared that is, a student-teacher relationship.
