Hey readers,
Today is Saturday and I thought it is story time and I
have been inactive on social media and blogging sites due to various reasons
but I am back and would like to create better content for you all and make it
up for you.
Today’s story is based on incident narrated to me by someone
and I am creating it in a better way and presenting it to you so do read out
and share as much as you can it will help me a lot and will encourage me to
write more for you all. Let’s get started.
Rohini was a very good and obedient student. She used
to stay in Bangalore with her parents but her native was Kerala. Being a
Keralite her language was different and so was her culture. She was new in
Bangalore and the tradition differed which is why she was not very comfortable with
the surroundings but, she had to survive and thought that she will make few
friends with the passing time. She started her schooling.
It was her first day at school. She went and sat on
the last bench of her class. One of her classmates initiated the conversation
with her but, as I told you guys that she was from Kerala and her tone differed
from that of Bangalore which is why the whole class laughed. Rohini felt bad
because this was not what she expected from her classmates. But she let it go
because she thought maybe these people heard such a tone for the first time and
will accept her as the time passes by.
The entire day went boring for Rohini because classmates
were not much interested to talk to her because she was considered to be
different. Rohini thought that she will be accepted by her classmates by next
week when things fall into place and they see her like them. School got over
and Rohini was back home. Her mother asked her how her day went for which
Rohini started sobbing. She told her mother that her classmates considered her to
be a different person. They weren’t happy with her language. Her mother
consoled her and told her to let go of whatever happened and let the time pass
and soon things will get better. She felt better.
The next day when Rohini reached her class she saw
that where she sat yesterday, her classmates splashed water all over the bench
and started laughing at her. Soon the teacher entered and started yelling at
students for troubling Rohini. Rohini was made sit next to Malini ( who was a scholar)
and the teacher asked Malini to be friends with Rohini. Rohini was still upset with
whatever happened because things weren’t getting better than yesterday. Time
passed and Malini was being very sweet with Rohini, Rohini thought that maybe
Malini can be her best friend, and soon her classmates will start accepting her
through Malini since Malini was a scholar.
Days passed by and Rohini was getting better and started
liking to visit school. Her mother too was happy seeing that her daughter is
happy and has accepted the change. Malini had become a close friend to Rohini
and soon Rohini started sharing her things with Malini and Malini started listening
to her stories like a really good friend. Rohini used to be happy that she
found a best friend and used to tell her mother that how Malini takes care of
her and how she was being really sweet.
Soon there was an event in the school and before the
commencement of the event, there were few compulsory lectures. So Rohini was
all ready and reached the school. She attended the lectures and when the
lectures were over, students were called on the ground floor to attend the event.
Malini told Rohini to wait for her in the classroom and she will be back within
no time. Students left the classroom but soon 4 boys and 3 girls from Rohini’s
class entered and one girl locked the door from outside. Rohini was scared and
was calling out for Malini. But no response.
When that group (4 boys and 3 girls) entered the classroom
they started singing and unpacking the bag of Rohini. They threw the stuff of
Rohini’s here and there. Her things were scattered. Those 3 girls started to
ruin Rohini’s hair and called her an outsider. Rohini was all scared to even
say anything because she knew even if she shouted nobody was there to hear her
voice. She just hoped that Malini comes and rescue her from these people. Soon one
of the girls said something about Rohini which only Malini knew. Yes, her best
friend Malini. Rohini was all shocked. Her thinking process was numbed. She
couldn’t believe what just happened and what she heard. She was devastated. She
was betrayed by her own best friend. That girl started to spill out all of
Rohini’s embarrassing moments and stuff which only Malini knew and Rohini
there, felt disgusted because she was made to feel that.
Soon the door gets unlocked those 4 boys go out and
the girls were just making fun. Rohini didn’t utter a single word and was just
silent sitting at the corner of the classroom. She couldn’t speak. The girls
got scared now because Rohini wasn’t even blinking her eyes. She was just
sitting and starring straight at the wall. That situation of Rohini was
understandable because she was betrayed. What she could do? Fight? But why? Her
person betrayed her who was supposed to be her guard and best friend.
After 2-3 hours of continuous harassment, Malini
enters the classroom. She sees Rohini and smiles at the girls. Rohini finally
opens her mouth and asks her why? Why did she betray her. To that Malini
replies for fun. You are a Kerala person and are a new person. You should sit quietly and should not expect
that you will be friends with us. You cannot enter our space. You are not
supposed to make friends. That day because your teacher yelled at us. Because
of a new person in the class, I and my friends got shoutings and then, of
course, you should be punished for that.
Rohini heard all of this and gave a tight slap to
Malini and said thank god I am not a part of your group and leave the class.
She did not feel bad for the first time. Because she knew she gave the right
answer to Malini and then she decides to change her school. Her new school was
better. She was accepted and loved by all her classmates. She asked her parents
not to tell the real reason to the Principal because she did not want Malini
and others to get punished she Rohini slapped her and replied to her bad deeds.
Rohini now was happy in her new school because she knows that because of one group
being bad not all the schools will consist of bad people. But, she took some time
to trust a new person now since she had a bad experience.
Rohini was certainly a strong person. She went through
a real bad time and it was not easy to cope up with what she went through but,
she stayed firm and crossed all the hurdles she found on her roads to survive
in a new place.
But it is very important that we start seeing people
as humans and not judge them based on their appearance or the place they belong
to. We are humans let’s be human and treat others the way we want to be treated.
